Ice Cream: Fat Eddies
While we were exploring New River Gorge NP, we headed here for a fraction of the day to check it out.
Day 1
On our way to Gauley, we saw a parking lot on the right side of the road that we stopped at. Turns out it was for Long Point Overlook. There was a beautiful lake view. Then we continued to Gauley Tailwaters to check out Gauley River National Recreation Area. We saw where the river started, at the dam. After checking that out, we walked down the boat ramp where we saw the rapids starting. It was very quiet – not too many people there. We then found one (of many) open picnic tables at the camping area and sat down for lunch.
When we were done checking out Gauley River, we headed right down the road to Fat Eddies. They had ice cream, and food but we were there for the ice cream. The soft server was good.
Once we were done there, we continued on our New River Gorge NP trip.
